On 29.10.2020 A National Scientific and Practical Conference was held at the Trakia Conference Center in Sofia on the topic:
PREVENTION OF WORK-RELATED MUSCLE-SKELETAL INJURIES.
ADAPTATION OF WORKPLACES AND PROTECTION OF WORKERS FROM KOVID 19.
The conference was organized by the Center “Center for Safety and Health at Work”, with the support of the Executive Agency “General Labor Inspectorate” at the MLSP.
The aim of the conference is to mark the European Week for Safety and Health at Work and to promote the Healthy Workplaces campaign, entitled “Lighten the load” (2020-2022), of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EAPO).
The focus of the EAPO’s two-year campaign is to raise awareness of work-related musculoskeletal disorders and how to prevent and control them. The topic of Kovid 19 was also touched upon, focusing on how the virus affects the psyche, stress and fear of the unknown.
The conference was opened by Eng. Stefan Bashev, Manager of the Center “Center for Safety and Health at Work”.
Mrs Rumyana Mihaylova, Executive Director of the General Labor Inspectorate, honoured us with her presence, who read her greeting and thanked the Foundation for the courage to hold the conference despite the situation.
Dr Darina Konova – the focal point from Bulgaria for the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work in Bilbao, presented the greeting of Mr Lazar Lazarov, Deputy. Minister of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. Dr Konova introduced us to statistics related to the current topic, which was the basis of the conference – Musculoskeletal disorders as a result of work.
Congratulations also sent by Mr Ognyan Atanasov – KNSB. Mr Atanasov informed us about the initiated study related to IAS at work, which was conducted among over 2000 members of KNSB two weeks ago. The study was conducted in three main areas of work – Health, Light Industry and Construction.
Mr Alexander Zagorov – LC Podkrepa, expressed his fascination with the style of work of the Center “Center for Safety and Health at Work”.
FIRST PANEL – Musculoskeletal injuries
Chief Inspector Mr Alexander Borisov – IA “GIT” at MLSP gave the first lecture of the day on:
Musculoskeletal injuries – the focus of the two-year campaign of the European Agency for Safety and Health. Problems, risk assessment, preventive activity, control.
The second lecture from the first panel was given by Eng. Albena Georgieva Arabova – ITW Director on the topic:
Static working posture – problems, risk assessment and preventive activity in IT DOUBLE APPLICATIONS COMPONENTS LTD, city Plovdiv
Eng. Arabova was not able to attend the conference in person, but thanks to our specialists and professionals an online connection was made and the presentation was given.
The last lecture from the first panel was given by Dr Darina Krasteva – Head of STM at KCM AD – Plovdiv on the topic:
Prevention of spinal diseases – good practices KCM AD
Dr Krasteva clearly presented a few simple but with regular practice effective exercises for the care of the spine and lower back.
SECOND PANEL – ADAPTATION OF WORKPLACES AND PROTECTION OF WORKERS FROM KOVID 19
The first lecture from the second panel of the National Scientific and Practical Conference was given by Nikolay Debovyanov – Deputy. Manager of Bultex 99 on the topic:
Adaptation of the workplaces in Bultex 99 EOOD to limit the danger for the spread of Covid 19. Work from home for a certain category of workers. Measures and problems.
Dr Janeta Racheva STM Aurubis Bulgaria AD, Pirdop gave the second lecture in connection with the protection of workers from Covid 19. The topic of the lecture was:
Protection of workers in a pandemic in Aurubis Bulgaria AD. Good practices.
The National Scientific-Practical Conference ended with a lecture by Dr Svetla Savcheva – Psychologist, Lecturer at the Technical University – Gabrovo. The topic of the lecture was mainly focused on human mental health:
Mental health in the conditions of Covid 19. Balance between personal and professional life.
